You have taken the decision to establish yourself permanently in Canada. No matter what your reasons may be, we know they are serious. There are almost as many paths which ultimately lead to permanent residency in Canada as there are reasons for coming! Our role in this process is to guide you through the path which will best fit your needs and personal situation.
If you are a foreigner and you have no immediate family in Canada, you will normally have to qualify under one of the country’s economic immigration programs.
You guessed it! If you do have immediate family in Canada, you may qualify for permanent residency under the family reunification category.
If you are a foreign student or worker in Canada, you will usually have to go through the same immigration process as everyone else, however you may be in an enviable position to do so.
Once permanent residence is obtained, you will need to reside in Canada at least 2 years out of any five year period to maintain your status.
